Wellness & AI Information
Last updated: September 2026 (draft)
This page explains how the AI features in this app work, the wellness boundaries we follow, and the limits of what they can do.
What the AI is — and isn't
The AI is a general wellness assistant. It is not a doctor, dietitian, or personal trainer. It cannot diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, or replace individualized professional guidance.
How calculations work
Nutrition arithmetic, serving conversions, trend calculations, eligibility checks, and target limits are handled by ordinary code — not the AI. Where an energy estimate is used, we apply the Mifflin–St Jeor equation with explicit inputs (weight, height, age, and a sex-related parameter asked separately from gender identity and skippable). The AI cannot invent calorie targets or override safety limits.
Calorie-deficit plans are not yet enabled
Automated weight-loss calorie targets are disabled by default. A separate, versioned policy for conservative deficits, intake limits, and eligibility must be configured and reviewed by a qualified nutrition professional before automated targets are enabled for public users. We do not claim this review has occurred. Until then, the app supports balanced meal suggestions without calorie prescriptions, manual tracking, and general activity plans.
Who should not receive restrictive plans
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People who disclose an eating-disorder concern.
- People whose current weight is in the underweight range.
- People whose screening indicates a need for individualized clinical nutrition or exercise guidance.
In these cases, the app offers non-restrictive functionality and recommends qualified guidance. It will not automatically prescribe exercise around significant injuries or clinical restrictions.
How the AI coach behaves
- Uses only your consented information and bases feedback on your actual records.
- Distinguishes incomplete logging from low intake, and asks whether your diary is complete before interpreting a low total.
- Gives one useful observation and one practical next step.
- Considers trends only when enough history exists, and never changes targets based on a single weigh-in or missing entry.
- Proposes changes for you to confirm rather than applying them silently.
- Avoids diagnoses, medication advice, crash diets, dehydration, extreme fasting, compensatory exercise, and shame.
- Never praises severely restricted intake or encourages exercising through pain.
- Directs urgent symptoms toward appropriate urgent care and clearly communicates uncertainty.
Plans and safety
Meal and workout plans are validated before they are shown or saved — including food references, allergens, equipment, movement limitations, required fields, and policy limits. Declared allergens are excluded from ingredients and substitutions, but you still need to check product labels and cross-contact information yourself. Exercise plans begin conservatively and progress gradually based on your recorded performance — never assigning heavy starting weights from body weight or gender alone. Plans are sourced from a movement catalog; we do not fabricate demonstration videos or copy copyrighted programs.
Usage limits
- One initial combined meal & workout plan.
- One fresh weekly plan every 7 days.
- One daily AI diary review.
- Three meal/workout swaps per day.
- Five short coach messages per day.
If an allergy or restriction changes, an incompatible plan can be invalidated immediately regardless of your remaining quota. At a limit or outage, regular logging and saved plans stay available wherever the platform permits, and we explain the temporary limitation honestly.
